Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter Erik Reino is starting 2023 with a bang, releasing his new EP titled “Back to the Start.” The EP is a perfect blend of pop, rock, and electronic genres, featuring tracks that are sure to catch the attention of music lovers everywhere.
The EP features tracks such as “Love Container” and “Back to the Start,” which offer overdrive-drenched guitars, plucky synths, and infectious vocals that are hard to resist. “Contrails,” on the other hand, is a more emotional offering that is sure to connect with listeners on a deeper level.
The EP was inspired by the Greek myth of Sisyphus, who was endlessly rolling a giant boulder uphill, only to see it roll down in the end. This metaphor for life is evident in the title track “Back to the Start,” which discusses the theme of everything falling apart in life. “Old Town Cinema” is another track on the EP that explores the nostalgic side of things falling apart. Reino uses an old movie theatre to symbolize adolescence, which inevitably ends for everyone.
